Church Langley Water Tower Abseil (3rd and 4th May, 2008)

ELEVEN brave Harlow Sub Aqua Club members raised more than £1,000 at the weekend by scaling and then abseiling down Church Langley water tower.

The event organised by The Rotary Club of Harlow Tye saw ... people descend down the 110ft structure to raise money for charity.

The following people from HSAC took part: Jim Ridings, Lynda Westall, Colin Eames, Ian Eveans, John Salisbury, Alan Harman, Bill Hilse, Jan Archer, Stuart Crump, Tracy Crump and Gary Emerson.

Together they raised a staggering £1241.50 - £575.50 went to HSAC while the remainder was split between St Clare Hospice at Hastingwood, Macmillan Cancer Care, St Luke's Hospice in Basildon, MENCAP and the National Association of Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC).

Treasurer Bill Hulse said: "We take this opportunity of thanking each abseiler and their sponsors for their generous support in raising valuable funds for the club, and much needed support for their chosen charities. We hope everyone will participate again next year."
